The Children’s Museum boasts many interactive exhibits just north of downtown Indianapolis, including sensory play areas, climbing structures, and a water play zone. Your toddler can also explore the iconic Barbie collection and experience unique shows like “Dinosphere,” where they can come close to life-size dinosaur skeletons. In the Indianapolis Museum, our toddler loves indoor fun activities like the rhythm discovery center and the arts and crafts area. They have a great gift shop that caters to younger children. 

Conner Prairie

Conner Prairie is not just a historical museum but an eventful outdoor destination inviting young minds to discover history, science, and nature. The expansive destination boasts beautiful grounds, pristine trails, and a variety of exhibits and hands-on activities for children to participate in. From pony rides and animal encounters to discovery areas and water play zones, Conner Prairie is ideal for a summer day trip with your toddler.

Indianapolis Zoo

If your toddler loves animals, visiting the Indianapolis Zoo should be on your itinerary. With more than 1,000 animals representing 300 species, the zoo has a broad collection of animals worldwide. With so many exhibits and events happening throughout the year, Newfields is a must-visit destination for families looking to make lasting memories. It’s a gorgeous landscape for some family photos!
