As a new mom, you want to document your baby’s precious moments. Whether it’s his first laugh or her first steps, you’ll cherish having each milestone photographed so you can look back on it. But one moment can never be recreated—that of the newborn stage. That is why investing in a Fishers newborn photographer is so important. Here are a few reasons to consider booking one for your little one.
Document Photos with Your Baby In Style with a Fishers Newborn Photographer
If you want to document newborn photos of your baby in a way that will stand out and last a lifetime, you’ll want to hire a professional newborn photographer. With experience taking newborn pictures of precious little miracles, I understand how to document priceless moments for you to remember. From beautiful wraps and newborn knits, I use natural light to create stunning baby portraits. Furthermore, I have a client closet full of dresses for mom to wear during the session, so you’ll have a glamorous outfit with no stress. You spent the last nine months growing a baby and deserve to feel like the goddess you are. Trust me. You’ll want to hang these beautiful portraits of you and your newborn on the walls of your home or cherish them in an heirloom album.
Understanding the Different Types of Newborn Sessions
Newborn photography is a unique art form that requires a baby photographer to be well-versed in baby safety and know how to document emotion through the camera lens. Many types of newborn sessions include lifestyle, newborn posed, and newborn prop photography. Each type has its unique look, so you’ll want to understand which style suits you before booking a baby photographer. Lifestyle newborn photography is a documentary approach documenting those fleeting first days in a natural setting with the family at home. Newborn-posed focuses primarily on close-up details and classic portraiture, while newborn prop incorporates more props like buckets and baby beds. I specialize in natural newborn photography, focusing on the baby with the family and the baby solo in a natural setting with wraps and newborn knits. Ultimately, review the photographer’s portfolio and ensure the style of the images resonates with you.

How to Choose the Right Location for the Photoshoot
When deciding on a location, think about the type of scenery you would like in your newborn photos. There are three options to consider:
- Studio newborn session: These are my favorites, and most of what you’ll find on my portfolio and Instagram. New parents love it because they do not have to worry about cleaning and organizing their homes. My entire client closet of dresses is at my studio, so busy moms can try different dresses without stress. Also, you can add hair and makeup that will come to your house prior so you can enjoy a day of pampering after baby’s birth!
- In home session lifestyle newborn session: This is where I come to your home and document you with your newborn baby. I’ll bring 1-2 dresses from my client closet for you to wear and a few choices for newborn wraps and headbands. Also, you can add hair and makeup at home before the session. A home session option is for you if you like the look of cozy family photos, or feel comfortable staying home the first two weeks of baby’s life.
- Outdoor newborn session: An outdoor session is also an option depending on the time of year. Local parks with lush trees can provide natural light that add to the newborn photo shoot. An outdoor location can be a beautiful fit, especially for older babies.
Documenting Special Moments with Your Baby
We all know how difficult it is for a mom to be in photos with her children because we always take them. Hiring a professional newborn photographer allows you to be in the pictures. Furthermore, I’ll guide you on posing to look your best and take photos from flattering angles (you know, the ones you can’t ever get with a tripod and self-timer)! So take a moment to document those special moments you will cherish forever!

Making the Most of Your Newborn Photography Investment with Printed Artwork
Investing in newborn photography can be great for photographing the fleeting moments of your baby’s life. However, sometimes photos are only kept as digital images in an online gallery. To ensure your newborn photography investment pays off, consider displaying your baby’s new photos with beautiful custom-printed artwork. Having images printed and framed will ensure that these memories will last a lifetime and be enjoyed by family members for many years! When searching for newborn photographers, watch for those who offer additional services, like printing options or wall art design. Doing so can help make your newborn photography experience even more special and give you lasting memories in the form of tangible artwork.
